Pierre-Camille Hamana – Founder and CEO of Hospitable

In this episode of the Short Term Show, Avery interviews Pierre, the founder and CEO of Hospitable. Pierre shares his journey from being a lawyer to becoming an Airbnb host, which led him to create Hospitable, a property management software. He talks about how his personal experience hosting guests inspired him to develop the tool and offers insights into what’s next on the roadmap for Hospitable.

Avery: Hey y’all, welcome back to the Short Term Show. We have a very, very cool guest today. We have the founder and CEO of my favorite PMS tool, Hospitable. We have Pierre.

Pierre: Thanks for having me. I appreciate the invite.

Avery: It’s great to have you on the show. So, I hope I’m pronouncing your name right.

Pierre: You are doing great, no worries there. I know my name can be tricky. I’m more concerned about how people pronounce my company’s name, “Hospitable.” For me, it’s quite funny because with my French accent, it always comes out a little different.

Avery: Yeah, I’ve heard it pronounced a few ways myself! So, how’s everything going with Hospitable?

Pierre: It’s going really well, thank you. I’m based in Belgium, so over here, it’s almost Bureau o’clock.

Avery: Bureau o’clock, I love it! So, what inspired you to start a property management software? Give us a little bit of background.

Pierre: Well, it wasn’t something I initially planned to do. I actually started my career as a lawyer. I was living in Brussels, and in my late 20s, I found myself looking for a new direction. That’s when I stumbled upon Airbnb hosting. I ended up renting out my own little place, and within two years, I had about 500 guests. That experience is what pushed me to think about automating communication with guests, which eventually led to creating Hospitable.

Avery: Wow, that’s quite the journey! Going from law to hosting and then building this tool.

Pierre: Yeah, it was quite the shift. But once I saw how much time was spent manually handling guest communication, I knew something needed to change. I became obsessed with solving the problem, and Hospitable was born from that obsession.

Avery: That’s incredible. I love hearing how your journey evolved. So, what’s next on the roadmap for Hospitable?

Pierre: We’re working on a lot of exciting updates, improving automation and making it even easier for hosts to manage their properties. I’m really excited about the future of the platform and helping hosts streamline their operations.
