Set Your Listing Apart with Julie Gates
Avery invites Julie Gates, a seasoned short-term rental property manager, to discuss the state of the short-term rental market, insights from a recent property management convention, and advice for self-managers looking to improve their property management skills.
Host: Hey guys, welcome back to this short-term show. We have a familiar face today, Julie Gates. She is a really good friend of mine, a property manager of a lot of different properties in a lot of different markets and different types of markets, so she has some really unique experience that a lot of us don’t have in managing so many properties in so many different places.
Guest: Wonderful, thank you so much for having me.
Avery: Thank you for coming! For those who may not have listened to the previous one, just give us a quick intro of yourself. Tell us a little bit about what you do.
Julie: Absolutely! My job is that I am a short-term rental property manager. I’m here to talk about property management. I live in Savannah, Georgia, and I proudly love Savannah. I manage quite a wide net. I’ve been told many times that no one’s really talking to property management, so I’m here to talk to you all. I know most of your audience self-manages—that’s great, and I think we should always be trying to do better and improve. I’m fresh off the steps of a trip to Las Vegas; I just got in a few hours ago from a property management convention.
Avery: Oh wow!
Julie: Yes! I brought you all of the dirt; I know it all, and I’m here to announce a lot of things that were told to us as big property management companies, so I want your audience to be aware of what’s coming down the pike so they can manage properties better.
Avery: That sounds exciting! I’ll let you take the lead then since you’ve got a lot to share, and I’ll just ask questions as we go.
