The STS GameDay Episode
Avery hosts an engaging episode on Game Day rentals with guests Jennifer and Ben. They discuss their experiences managing short-term rentals in popular football towns, offering insights into the opportunities and challenges of this niche market.
Avery: Hey guys, welcome back to another episode of the Short-Term Show! I know I say I have a super cool episode every time, but this one I’m particularly interested in, having grown up in an SEC football town, and that is Game Day rentals. I don’t think this has been explored enough, and I find it very interesting. Maybe I’ll go buy one, but first, we’ll introduce our really cool panel that we have to talk about.
Avery: So first, we’ve got Jennifer. Hey, Jennifer, do you want to introduce yourself really quick?
Jennifer: Sure, hi guys! I’m Jennifer. We have seven rentals across multiple markets. We’re in Gulf Shores and the Smokies, and we have four units now here in Tuscaloosa.
Avery: Awesome! We’re going to highlight the units in Tuscaloosa today, all right for those of you who don’t know, and I’m sure you do, Tuscaloosa is where the University of Alabama is. Big football – Roll Tide!
Avery: All right, next, we have Ben. Ben, do you want to introduce yourself?
Ben: Yeah, hey guys! I’m Benjamin Vale, but you can call me Ben. I’m the owner of Housepitality. We’re a short-term rental management company with a brokerage in Columbus, Ohio. We’re also in surrounding cities like Cincinnati to Cleveland. So all over Ohio, we manage about 140 units. Around 120 of those are short-term, some long-term, and we have several near Ohio State University in Columbus, Ohio.
Avery: Awesome, and so we are here today to talk about Game Day rentals.
Avery: Okay, let’s do this! I’m very excited about this. That means that I want to do but haven’t yet, so I’m super excited. Let’s start!
